There an many misleading definition about the cloud technology & services, it is hyped across something that can be highly complicated or not doable. eBay to build U.S.’s largest fuel cell data center

Dedicating itself to becoming an even greener technology company, eBay has announced that it is to build a new six-megawatt renewable data center, making it the largest non-utility fuel cell installation utilising renewable energy in the US.

Partnering with Bloom Energy, it will incorporate 30 Bloom Energy servers into its new flagship data center, utilising the electric utility grid only as a backup. …read more

Microsoft comes up with Surface.

Microsoft launched a family of Surface tablets on Monday[June 18th] that will be the showcase platform for the company’s next-generation Windows 8 operating system, Microsoft executives said at an event. Microsoft don’t want to call it a tablet, it’s a PC with many features and look a like of a laptop.  

Microsoft Surface is a software platform that is ideal for any scenario in which multiple users want to interact with a single large form-factor device, similar to a wide-screen TV. The focus of Surface is on creating real connections—whether it’s connecting customers with information and each other, or connecting a device made for Surface to other devices. Using only their fingers or objects, such as loyalty cards or game pieces like checkers, users interact with a high-end graphical display that can be used as a table, on the wall, or embedded in other fixtures or furniture. read more…

India ahead of US, Japan in PC security: McAfee

New Delhi: India may have low penetration of computers, but it is ahead of countries like US, Japan and Singapore when it comes to basic PC protection, says a report by security software maker McAfee.

It conducted a global study across 24 nations, analysing data from voluntary scans of an average of 27-28 million PCs per month to determine a global estimate of the number of consumers who have basic security software installed.

Finland had the highest number of 90.3% PCs with a basic security software solution in place, followed by Italy (86.2%) and Germany (85.55%).

Basic security protection is defined as working anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall technologies.  …read more
